Professional Background:
Before joining Troppito Miller Griffin LLC, Kerry most recently served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri, where he represented the Director of Revenue in a variety of cases. Kerry has over seventy-five bench trials under his belt, winning over 90% of them. Through his work as a Special Assistant Attorney General, Kerry regularly appeared in courts across western Missouri. Kerry also appeared in, briefed, and successfully argued a case in front of the Western District of Missouri Court of Appeals. Prior to his work with the State of Missouri, Kerry was the managing member of Kerry Williams Law LLC, where he specialized in civil litigation, trust and estates, and DWI defense.

Creditor’s Rights/Collections
Upon joining Troppito Miller Griffin, LLC, Kerry has begun to put the vast array of the skills he’s developed and the knowledge he’s gained into practicing Creditor’s Rights/Collections law. Kerry’s experience helps him effectively and efficiently navigate the court systems, which helps him leverage his client’s position in the collection process. Leverage is gained by filing liens, levy’s, garnishments, and by conducting debtor’s exams.

Civil Litigation
Kerry has an extensive background in civil litigation from pleadings through trial. Whether it’s investigating the case and filing a petition, performing discovery, , taking a complex deposition of an expert, or conducting a trial, Kerry’s done it.

Construction
While working on his undergraduate degree, Kerry worked construction by framing houses. During this period, Kerry developed a respect for the profession, gained a working understanding of a jobsite, and he learned about a whole host of issues that might arise during construction. Kerry’s construction practice focuses mainly on residential construction, where he can draft contracts, file liens, file a lawsuit if necessary, and collect any judgment obtained. Kerry has also defended residential contractors in suits filed against them.

Real Estate
Kerry can help clear “cloud on title” by filing a quiet title action. He can file partition actions to sell real property for clients who have a dispute with an individual whom they share an interest in a real property with. He also prepares and files liens, lis pendens, and affidavits of equitable interests to help his client’s secure a debtor’s real property. When needed, Kerry can file a judicial foreclosure or conduct a non-judicial foreclosure.

Motor Vehicle Title Issues
One of Kerry’s many roles as a Special Assistant Attorney General, was to represent the Director of Revenue in declaratory judgment actions concerning the ownership of a motor vehicle where the individual lacked good title to the vehicle and was unable to register and legally drive the vehicle. If you find yourself in this position, there is a good chance Kerry can help you obtain a good title by filing the necessary petition with the courts and appearing on your behalf at the hearing.
